Norse Peak - Part II of the Triathahikaclimbalon

Pam and I decided our legs of the Lakewood Triathlon weren't enough of a warmup for Mt St Helens so we headed up Norse Peak Sunday morning on a perfect day.

This trail begins with a short walk up a Forest Service road to the "marked" trailhead.

It continues, steeply at times, to one of the best views in the area with 360 degree vies of Rainier , Adams, Glacier and even the Olympics.

In all it gains 2974 feet in 10.2 miles out and back. On this day we didn't see the usual elk that hang around in the valley below where Bighorn Basin is.

The pictures do all of the talking on this hike, so I'll leave it to them.

Be very well and more soon....
